6-17-26 THOUGHTS
The “BEGOTTEN” side of our Lord makes us His brethren (verse 11)! The cost of Christ’s glory and honor was death... horrible death. Verse 10 says that it was right that the “founder of our salvation” should have to suffer in order to complete the plan of God to save us! The “one source” terminology put us together with Jesus... The SANCTIFIER and those SANCTIFIED are one! As the song says, “Heaven came down, and glory filled my soul...” We praise You O God, for the son of Thy LOVE!
Heb 2:9-11 But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. 10 For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering. 11 For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
Our Prayer:
We thank You and praise You, O Lord, for salvation in Christ Jesus. In Jesus, You came down as man and partook of the woes and temptations of mortal flesh. The identification factor is awesome and gives us common ground for brotherhood. Your son is not ashamed to call us brothers. How wonderful You are, O God. How wonderful to be Your adopted children. It’s a stunning picture of Your LOVE in saving us. We are so grateful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
